This year for Halloween, Hudson was an elephant. Last week we tried the outfit on him, just in case, and it was about two inches too short, but it was so cute we kept it anyway. It has little feet that were supposed to rest on top of his feet, but they fell about halfway down his shins, so we just put on a pair of gray socks and hoped nobody noticed! At first, he wasn't so sure about the big floppy ears hanging in his face, but he got used to them and was soon playing like usual. We went to 7 houses over the weekend, and Hudson did very well with the whole thing. But by the end of the activities, he was worn out!

Misc Pictures
The last few weeks have been mainly focused on getting Hudson through the arrival of his 1 year molars. 2 down, two to go! It must be pretty painful, because his hands are constantly in his mouth, and he drools all over everything, and is in a really bad mood. But between the pain and whining, he did find some time to discover that if he takes everything out of the cabinet we keep our cookie sheets and pizza pans in, he can fit in it himself. Taking the sheets out one by one, and then turning them upside-down and jumping on them has quickly become one of his favorite things to do when he's stuck inside. I have some pictures of him below, as well as one we took at Outback last weekend. He was bobbing his head to the music, and was in such a good mood, I had to get a quick picture.

My First Jack-O-Lantern
Since Hudson is old enough to "help" carve a jack-o-lantern this year, we decided last night to get a pumpkin and carve one for him. Jesse drew the face on the pumpkin, cut the top off, and the fun began. Hudson wasn't so sure about sticking his hands down in the pumpkin at first, but after he saw Daddy do it a couple of times, he figured it would be ok.

Fun at the Zoo
Sept 11th - 13th we made the trek to Columbus, OH to visit my cousins Addy and Ann, and their husbands Pete and Zac for the weekend. It was about a 5 hour drive, but Hudson was a great little traveler. Addy and Pete have a 6 month old daughter, Kate, and a 3 year old daughter, Ella, who met us at the car when we arrived and whisked "Hudy" away to play with toys. The two were fast friends, and were running and yelling all weekend long. Fri night we took a walk to a nearby creek to feed the ducks. We would tear off pieces of bread for Hudson and Ella to feed the ducks, and about half would go to the ducks, and the other half was quickly stuffed in their own mouth. Sat morning we got up and went to the Columbus Zoo. It was Hudson's first trip to a zoo, and he enjoyed watching the animals, and even got to ride on his first Merry-Go-Round. After the zoo we went back to Addy and Pete's house and relaxed and let the kids run. We had a great time, and are looking forward to our next trip out there. Below are some pictures from the weekend.

1 Year and Counting
It's official my baby is no longer a baby. He turned 1 on Sept 4th and has now been transitioned from formula to milk, and from bottles to sippy cups during the day. His meals mainly consist of smaller portions of whatever the people around him are eating, instead of mainly baby food. And, most importantly of all, he is FINALLY sleeping through the night. Although I do miss the cuddly little baby, he's a lot more interactive and fun to play with now. Below are some pictures from his birthday party, and the following days.

Ouch
Last Thursday I was out of town for work, and Hudson was outside with Jesse while Jesse grilled something for supper. Long story short, Hudson put his hand on the grill and got 2nd degree burns on his right palm and fingers. He's going to be ok, and rarely acts like it bothers him anymore, but we have to keep his hand wrapped up until it heals. Below are some pictures of the busy little man with his hand wrapped. It kind of looks like a little boxing glove!

Almost a Year Already
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted updated pictures. This summer has flown by, and it doesn't seem possible that Hudson will be 1 year old in a couple of weeks. He's learning so much, so fast it's crazy. He will give you a five now, throw his arms up in the air for "so big" when you ask him how big he is, and he'll say hi to just about anyone he comes across. But of course, he still won't say mama! I try not to take it personally because the huge grin and squeal when I pick him up from the sitter's is enough for me! He is still a little outdoorsman and pretty much out of control. We went over to a friend's house Friday night, and Hudson and I had to leave early because I couldn't keep him out of their decorative fish pond. He climbed up their landscaping rocks and pretty much tried to dive into the pond headfirst to grab the fish. He was soaked! I have posted some picture below of our visit with the Clydesdales at Strassenfest, and also of him "helping" Daddy wash his truck over the weekend. Here is a link to the professional pictures from his 1 year photo session. Obviously, these are much better! http://photographybylacey.blogspot.com/2009/08/hudson.html
