I can't believe it's almost July already! In two months, Hudson will be 2 years old, and officially a toddler. Although in size and attitude, he's been a toddler for a while now! Everyday is a new adventure with Hudson as he talks more and more, and constantly tries new things. He's not afraid of anything, and there is no end to what adventure he'll think of. We took him boating with our neighbors for the first time yesterday, and he absolutely loved it. I was a little concerned about how he'd do out there all day, but he was great. If the older kids did something, he was going to do it, too. It didn't matter that they were a lot bigger than him. He jumped off of the boat into the water, played with water guns, beach balls, squealed and laughed as the waves rocked him, and threw a major tantrum when it was time to get everything back in the boat and head home! He wasn't afraid one bit. He had his backpack (life jacket) on and was happy as could be swimming and playing in the water.

We also went to Jesse's nephew Braydon's little league tourney over the weekend where Hudson cheered and clapped for Braydon, and pretty much hunted down anyone with a baseball or a bat that he could catch! While they were here, Jen gave me some pictures that she had taken when we were down at their house on my birthday over Memorial Weekend. Those, and some pictures of Hudson enjoying the bouncy house that my mom bought him are below.

Hudson is talking more and more every day and his favorite sentence is Daddy lawn mower mow the grass. Except it sounds more like Daddy maw-moer mow da dass. But he'll repeat it over and over and over. He also gets excited any time we see a tractor, motorcycle, or school bus, but his favorite is still the lawn mower. I'm not sure what started his obsession with lawn mowers, but he sure loves them.

We made our first trip to Splashin' Safari last Fri, and it was a hit. The water was a little cool, so we only stayed a couple of hours, but Hudson was having a great time, and was not ready to leave. But his lips were blue and he was shivering, so I pried him out of the waterpark and we rode his favorite car ride, and went home. We are planning on going back again this Fri if the weather cooperates, so hopefully the water has warmed up some over the last week.

There are some pictures below of Hudson playing with bubbles last weekend at Mom and Dad's. This was really the first time it wasn't too windy and he could actually chase the bubbles and catch up to them. He had a great time!

Holiday World Fun

I took Hudson to Holiday World for the first time on Fri. I was pretty sure he'd like it, but I've been wrong on things like this before. The first two rides we tried were in the kiddie area of the park, and he wasn't impressed. As soon as the ride started, he yelled for me and wanted off. So we tried the Lewis and Clark trail where you drive cars around a track that guides you through. So Hudson could drive the cars, which he loved. We went on that ride so many times, the guy working it was Hudson's buddy when we finally left. After that we rode on the train that goes around a section of the park and talks about some fairy tales. He thought that was pretty cool because he loves trains. After the train we went to the Holidog section, which is a play area for kids, and Hudson absolutely loved it here. They had little fountains that sprang up from the ground, and he played in those for almost an hour! he was kicking the water, trying to drink the water, running through, over and around the fountains. And then an older boy showed him how to stick your foot at the base of the fountain and it sprays everywhere. He tried that a few times, but decided kicking the water once it came up was much more fun! There are some pictures below from our adventures.

Saturday we went to Jesse's nephew's 8th birthday party at Incredible Dave's in Louisville. We had never heard of it before, so we weren't really sure what to expect. It ended up being a cross between a Dave and Buster's and Chuck E Cheese's. They had inflatable play areas for kids Hudson's age and younger, and just about everything you could imagine for kids a little older than Hudson all the way up to adults. Hudson spent about a half hour, maybe , in the area that was for his age group, then he moved on to the more exciting areas! They had a huge inflatable slide that Jesse took him on at first, and then he wanted to go by himself. It was for kids 3 and up, but that didn't phase him one bit. He climbed up the steps and came flying down multiple times with a huge grin on his face. They also had a giant maze/obstacle course thing where you climbed up in it and could swing, slide, walk across rope bridges, etc. I had to go up into that with Hudson, but he was bound and determined to try every different activity they had in there, so we were in there for a while. All in all, he had a blast and we were all 3 worn out by the time we left! There are some pics below of the little kid area, and then the big slide.

Gone Fishing

I am happy to report that Hudson is finally acting like his old self again. We had to take him back in to the doctor earlier in the week, and he ended up getting an antibiotic for a sinus infection, and I think that helped everything because he is back to his usual busy self. Now I am keeping my fingers crossed that he stays healthy for at least the summer. We're all tired of sleepless nights and doctor's visits.

Last night, Jesse went fishing with one of his friends, and Hudson and I met up with them after they were done so Jesse could show Hudson his catch. Hudson was amazed by the fish, and was a little hesitant to touch them until Jesse picked one up and held it with him. After that he was all about them and would walk anyone who would come with him over to the fish and point them out. He was standing there looking at them when one of the fish started flopping around, and Hudson was taken aback at first, but then he started kicking at that fish! I guess he thought the fish wanted to play!

Happy Easter

This has been a long week around our house. Monday evening Hudson was acting strange so we took his temp and it was 102. We took him to the doctor and he had a viral version of strep throat, so he had all of the same symptoms of strep throat, but since it was cause by a virus, and not a bacteria, they couldn't give him any medicine for it. The fever lasted until Thursday and when that finally broke, his mouth broke out in fever blisters, inside and out. He hasn't eaten in almost a week, but the doctors said as long as he'll drink something, he should be ok. So we got up this morning and went outside to see if the Easter Bunny had come. Sure enough, there were eggs out in the yard, and Hudson had a blast picking them up and tossing them into his Easter basket. He thought they were balls, so he threw them in his basket full force, but oh well. He was having a good time, so we just let him do it. He would run from one egg to the next and turn and throw them into his basket and laugh.

18 Months Old

Hudson had his 18 month checkup last week and he is 35.75 in tall which is above the 95th percentile in height and he weighs 28lbs 8 oz which is in the 85th percentile. So we have an over-achiever! Which is fine by me because I bought myself a pass to Holiday World this summer, and it looks like the cutoff for a lot of the rides is 36" if accompanied by an adult. So he'll be free this summer, and next summer, and will be tall enough to actually do something there. I can't wait! The weather has been milder lately, and we've been taking every opportunity we get to go outside and let Hudson burn off some energy. He is such an outdoors kid, as long as he's outside he's happy. It doesn't matter what we're doing. There are some pictures below of him riding on the 4 wheeler Jesse's uncle brought over for him. He thought he was pretty hot stuff! There are also some pictures below of him meeting my cousin Kate's little boy Quinn, as well as him having a staring contest with a dead ladybug at mom and dad's. He loves bugs, and will get down on the ground and blow them around the floor!
